Shami is not likely to play in Bangladesh Test matches

Mohammed Shami's participation in the Test series against Bangladesh appears unlikely. The seasoned bowler has not entirely healed from the right shoulder ailment that prevented him from playing in the current ODI series, according to the most recent information from the Indian camp.

Reports from Shami's time at Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy (NCA) do not bode well for the seasoned spinner. The NCA staff will create a recovery and rehabilitation plan for him. There is no concrete information about his return at this time. The absence of Shami (216 wickets in 60 Tests) could be a disadvantage for the faltering Indian team in Bangladesh as his expertise may be sorely missed.

At the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia last month, the 32-year-old was last spotted supporting the Indian team. He had to be withdrawn from the ODI squad for the series against Bangladesh. For the ODIs, Umran Malik was selected as his substitute.

More than 30 players, including those who are a part of the India A team, are now in Bangladesh for the Tests, so it appears that there is no urgent intention to fly in a replacement. Any player may be kept on by the Indian squad if it so chooses. In any case, the spinners Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav are on the team along with Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur. A left-arm spinner named Saurabh Kumar will also shortly join them.

The ODI team is in the same boat. Kuldeep Sen, Deepak Chahar, and Rohit Sharma are the only three players that are available for the third and final ODI on December 10; no substitute has been announced. There is no immediate need for a replacement for a series that has already been lost, according to sources, who have stated that Siraj, Thakur, and Umran are available for selection.

Regarding Rohit, the captain has arrived in Mumbai for scans after suffering an injury during the second ODI; a decision regarding his participation in the Test matches will be made in the following day. Rohit's availability for the second and final Test will also be investigated, if not for the first game. A specialized opener named Shubman Gill is a member of the test squad and can fill in alongside KL Rahul.

No dates yet for selection panel interviews

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet decided on a date or dates for the interviews with potential members of the new selection committee. The BCCI has not yet communicated with the members of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe, and Sulakshana Naik, despite the goal date of December 15 being indicated as the completion date.

It is claimed that the board managers are selecting the best applications from a pool of up to 207, according to reports. Many former cricketers are eligible because the requirement is 30 first class games, and it's known that the advertisement received a lot of response.

Cricket Betting

Is betting on cricket worthwhile?

Yes. The proliferation of wagers available in recent years has contributed to cricket's rise. The winning team, the best hitter, the amount of runs the preferred team scores, and other options are available to bettors.

If you're unfamiliar, cricket is a team sport in which two teams, each with eleven players, compete against one another using a bat and ball.

The playing area is an area with grass that is elliptical in shape, or more or less oval, and has an extension no less than a football field's length.

A rectangular patch of ground in the centre of the field is called a pitch. The batsmen are paired up, and the team that bats scores the runs. The Cricket World Cup is one of its most notable competitions. This is granted every four years and directs to the most significant teams since 1975. Australian Sir Donald Bradman, who ranks first in player runs, scoring, batting average, bowling, and wickets, is one of the greatest players of all time.
